It is all about the 'New Mode'.

1. The artist is an individual not a cog.

2.The true value of Art can not be judged.

3.We the producers of art have been liberated and no "standard" form will ever constrain us again!

When the process of change is complete, when the matter has been impressed with the artist's logos, and the potential has been developed into the actual.

A work of art is in its nature an appeal to the senses and imagination of the cultivated individual with sound aesthetic instincts. It is to them the final appeal is made and to them that the artist gives leave to decide its fate.

I perceive a great dragon existing through time and its name is Art. As this dragon ages its scales become a dull grey, it is then that the old skin must be shed for a New Mode, which is a glittering gold.

Ever since there have been philosophers the question of "what is the meaning and/or definition of Art and Reality?' has existed. From Socrates & Aristotle to Nietzsche & Arthur Danto. When using a meta-physical visual language the artist is not constrained by words, for there are things that represent themselves in reality that have yet to be named. I feel this is one of the driving forces of Art, to illuminate things yet unspoken.

Jason Schutzman has been wandering the expanse of the Art world for just over 13 years now. Leaving the U.S. Art Universities behind in exchange for studying and apprenticing under several master painters in Europe and throughout the world, such as the Angel Academy, the Florence Academy, and Ernst Fuchs, to name a few. He has shown in galleries ranging from the Bentley Showroom in London to music festivals in the woods and even once at a Buddhist temple in Nepal. Growing up as a Pittsburgh native he has recently moved back, into a studio at the Brew House on the Southside and is determined to bring 'The New Mode' with him to the Art world .
