I am continually exercising finding balance in my life, which I rehearse in my art making process. Constantly oscillating between manipulating fluid and structured mediums, I use the process of art making as a way to better understand the world around me. I am attracted to the fluidity of paint and the ease of mark-making with a brush. The unpredictability of allowing paint to drip on the canvas excites me. Structure and restraint comes with the use of pen and pencil. Though I typically plan how I want a final product to look, I allow myself to be encouraged by the process, as I practice the art of growing from inevitable mistakes.

She works full-time as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Art Therapist, providing counseling services for adults at a local outpatient substance use disorder treatment facility. Jen is loves calling Pittsburgh her home and is inspired daily by the beautiful landscape, architecture, and bridges. Jen started painting as a primarily therapeutic exercise, but has since developed a style using acrylic, ink, and gold leaf on layers of poured resin. She is currently captivated creating acrylic paintings of forest animals, portraits of the city she loves, and resin/ink pieces.
